Civil Defence participated in Independence Day parade
Jammu August 15:Civil Defence J&K for the first time in its history participated in the Independence Day Parade both at Srinagar as well as Jammu. At Srinagar civil defence contingent was lead by Sh.Mohd Yousaf. The civil defence contingent in Jammu was lead by post warden Manjit Singh Sodhi & it was comprised of two post wardens, five sector wardens & no. of Civil Defence volunteers. Sh.Navin Agarwal IGP Civil Defence J&K, on whose directions the civil defence took part in Independence Day Parade, appreciated the wardens & volunteers for this act of their.
Besides this Aux. Police & Homeguards contingents also took part in the Independence Day Parade. In Jammu Aux. Police contingent was lead by Dy.SP Sh.T.R.Rana of Aux. Police 2nd Bn. Homeguards contingent also participated in Independence Day Paradce at all District Headquarters of the state. Civil Defence volunteers also rendered their services during the Independence day celebrations by helping in regulating traffic & assisting police in the Law & Order duties.
