Civil Defence Awareness Programme at Anantnag

 

Srinagar September 20: A Civil Defence awareness programme was organized by Civil Defence, Anantnag at Govt. Degree College, Khanabal on 19-09-2006. The programme was attended by about 5000 students of the Degree College. The Controller Civil Defence Sh.Ghulam Ahmed Peer, IAS and DIG South Kashmir-Range Sh.H.K.Lohia, IPS welcomed the chief guest Sh.Navin Agarwal, IPS IGP Civil Defence J&K under whose guidance the awareness programme was being held. Various demonstrations about precautions to be taken during Air Raids and Bomb Blast, Rescue operations, Fire Fighting, First Aid etc. were shown practically to the students by the Civil Defence Volunteers of Anantnag and Srinagar. Sh.Gh.Nabi Dar, Dy.Controller Civil Defence, Anantnag and S.Imtiyaz, Divisional Warden, Anantnag organized the programme with the cooperation of Dr.Manzoor Ahmed NSS coordinator of Govt. Degree College, Anantnag, Information Department and Youth Services and Sports Department. Sh. Abdul Gani Mir, SSP Anantnag, Sh. Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan, SO to IGP, Civil Defence, J&K, Sh.Manzoor Ahmed Dainposh, Commandant Auxiliary Police Ist Bn Srinagar, Sh. Gowhar Hussain, Chief Prosecuting officer, Anantnag and other senior government functionaries were also present on the occasion.
