January 6th: A SRTC Bus bearing No.0253/JK01Y on way from Kishtwar to Doda met with an accident near Prem Nagar Doda on 4th January 2007 in which 12 persons died and about 45 injured. A Civil Defence team of Doda comprising of Sh.Javid Iqbal Azad Chief warden, Sh.Zaffer Ullah Rather Dy.Chief warden, Sh.Basant Singh Divisional warden, Sh.Sadullah Rangraz Rather Post warden, Sh.Syed Riaz Ahmed sector warden and Smt.Sarita Bhan sector warden reached on spot and launched rescue operation. Injured persons were shifted to Hospital and also arranged blood.
Seriously injured persons including five gents, two ladies and one child were air lifted from Doda to Jammu where civil defence Jammu carried shifted persons to GMC Hospital Jammu in Civil Defence Ambulances.
