Civil Defence Imparted Training to Probationary Officers of Armed Forces

Jammu, July 15th: A new batch of 13 Probationary Sub-Inspectors and Asstt. Sub-inspectors from 3rd IRP Bn. were put under training in the field of Civil Defence and Disaster Management at Central Training Institute of Homeguards/Civil Defence Jammu for a period of seven days w.e.f 01-07-2007 which was completed on 07-07-2007 under the supervision of Mrs. Manjit Kour, KPS, Principal CTI, HG/CD & AXP Jammu. This is for the first time in the J&K state that probationary officers from armed forces imparted civil defence training and its importance and scope in light of disaster management. During the training programme 10 female and 3 Male probationary NGOs of IRP 3rd Bn participated and following Civil Defence training events were imparted to said probationers.
1. First Aid,
2. Fire fighting,
3. Rescue,
4. Disaster Management.
Shri S.M.Khatotra, SSP, Divisional Commandant Home Guards Jammu was the Chief guest on the occasion of closing ceremony held at CTI HG/CD &AXP Gulshan Ground Jammu. On the occasion, he said that Civil Defence training and Skills will prove very beneficial for the NGOs of Armed Police in the event of any disaster or calamity. He also said that more and more police officers must undergo the civil defence trainings which is very useful for disaster management.
