Sh.S.Gopal Reddy, IPS, IGP, HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K visits CD Town Samba for reviewal of Civil Defence Activities

Samba, September 6th: A Civil Defence awareness-cum-live demonstration camp was organized at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Samba on 4th September 2009. More than 800 students and a large numbers of peoples witnessed the function. Sh.Parveen Singh, Dy.SP, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Samba highlighted the achievements and role of Civil Defence in CD Town Samba. The instructors of CTI HG/CD Jammu has given live demonstration and various rescue techniques.

Sh.S.Gopal Reddy, IPS, IGP, HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, he stressed upon the students and people to join Civil Defence and to become Civil Defence volunteers. He asked the people to come forward in an emergent situation arising out of any natural or man-made disaster to provide help to the victims. He asked the people to work hand-in-hand in law & order situation for upholding peace and order in society particularly at the time of any calamities. He also asked the people to attend such Civil Defence camps in large numbers as and when organized in future.

Among prominent citizen, Sh.P.R.Manhas, IPS, DIG HG/CD & Aux. Police Jammu, Sh.Sourab Bhagat, IAS, Dy.Commissioner-cum-Controller Civil Defence Samba, Sh.Raghubir Singh, SSP Samba, Sh.Deepak Slathia, Comdt.Aux. Police 2nd Bn. Jammu and other district officers were also present on the occasion.
