SDRF PERSONNEL AND HOMEGUARDS/ CIVIL DEFENCE VOLUNTEERS DEPLOYED FOR SHRI AMARNATH JI YATRA DUTY-2017

A large number of Homeguards, Civil Defence wardens/volunteers and SDRF personnel alongwith GOs/NGOs were deployed for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Duty at various important places in Kashmir Province (i.e Nunwan, Chandanwari Sheshnag, MG Top, Poshpatri, Panjtarni, Baltal, Brarimarg, Sangam & Holy Cave) and Jammu Province (i.e. Lakhanpur, Kalibari, Chann Arorian, Chichi Mata, Base camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, Udhampur and Ramban). Sh.Amarnath Ji Yatra 2017 commenced from 27-06-2017 and concluded on 08-08-2017.

All the SDRF teams who have undergone specialized Courses in Disaster Management were deployed with well equipped rescue equipments and tents, First Aid Boxes with first aid material, sleeping bags, oxygen cylinders, shovels, pick axes, ropes, blankets etc. to tackle any eventuality. SDRF rescue vehicles and ambulances were also deployed round the clock at base camps Baltal, Phalgam and Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. The SDRF MRTs provided oxygen and first aid to a large number of yatries. Besides, they assisted thousand of yatries, especially sick and old-aged, to negotiate the difficult tracks of the route.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE SRINAGAR ORGANIZED AWARENESS CAMPS AT TENGPORA BEMINA BYEPASS AND HAZRATBAL SHRINE

On 20-04-2017 an awareness camp was organized by Civil Defence Srinagar at paramedical institute Tangpara Srinagar in which more than 200 students participated and were acquainted with the disaster / emergencies tactics. During the camp rescue equipments were displayed by the organizing agency and the instructors briefed the participants about the specification and using methods of rescue equipments. One more Civil Defence awareness / assistance camp of 05 days duration was organized at Hazratbal shrine on the eve of religious festival in which a big gathering was assisted by Civil Defence volunteers and first aid was also provided to the needy devotees. Civil Defence Srinagar also organized mock exercise at New wave Public school Pandatch Srinagar in which more than 500 students of the institute participated and witnessed the mock drill.


 

STATE DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE RESCUE TEAMS LAUNCHED VARIOUS SEARCH/ RESCUE OPERATIONS AND EVACUATED TRAPPED PERSONS SAFELY

On 16th July 2017 an SRTC bus carrying pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra from Base camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu to Srinagar met with an accident on the way in District Ramban and plunged into deep Gorge at Nallah Nachlana at about 1330 hours. SDRF Recue team of Yatra Camp Ramsoo reached at incident place and started a Joint rescue operation with local police and civilians. The rescue team pitched multipurpose Ropes from road to deep gorge to approach the Bus and injured persons were evacuated.

On 22-07-2017, an information was received from PCR Jammu that a person was trapped alongwith a Tanker in flash flood, in old Jhajjar Kotly Nalla (33) KM from Bn. Hqrs. Jammu. On receiving the information SDRF rescue team comprising (10) SDRF personnel of Bn. Hqrs. alongwith fully equipped water rescue equipment immediately rushed towards the spot. The rescue team launched rescue operation and after a hard struggle by rescuers, the trapped person was evacuated safely under the supervision of Dy.SP. Sudershan Mehta of Bn. Hqrs.

On 18-07-2017, on information received from PCR Jammu, SDRF rescue team from Bn. Hqrs. was deputed at Peer-khu Mandir in Tawi River Jammu where (02) persons were trapped in flash flood. After a hard struggle by the rescue team the trapped persons were evacuated safely.

SDRF personnel alongwith district administration assisting the victims after cloud burst at Doda

On the intervening night of 19th & 20th July-2017, an incident of cloud burst happened at about 0230 hours at Tehsil Thathri in district Doda. A rescue team of component Doda under supervision of Dy. SP Rajinder Prasad, Area Commandant Homeguard cum I/C SDRF Doda reached at the site of incident and conducted rescue operation along with Local Police and civilians. Also SDRF rescue team from SDRF component Kishtwar reported at Thatri and carried out the rescue operation. During the operation (06) dead bodies were recovered from debris and (12) injured person were evacuated safely.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE JAMMU ORGANISED FIVE DAYS BASIC TRAINING CAMP AT K.C COLLEGE OF EDUCATION MUTHI JAMMU

Civil Defence Jammu organized 05 days CD basic training camp at KC College of Education Muthi Paloura w.e.f 02-05-2017 to 06-05-2017. During the camp about 86 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation/disaster management activities by the Civil Defence /SDRF experts. While speaking on the occasion Smt. Anita Pawar Dy. Controller CD Jammu highlighted the role of Civil Defence especially the role of students in the Civil Defence organization. The main aim of the training programme was to facilitate the students and staff members with regard to preventive measure of Civil Defence and importance of First Aid, Rescue techniques and Disaster management. She urged the participants to join the Civil Defence to serve the society, she also thanked the principal and staff members for inviting Civil Defence team for organizing such a Civil Defence Basic training programme. Dr.Shabina Bano, Principal of the college highly appreciated the role of Civil Defence and requested to conduct such training programmes in future also.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE/SDRF JAMMU ORGANISED ONE DAY AWARENESS CUM DEMONSTRATON CAMP AT NCC CAMP NAGROTA

One day awareness programme was organized at NCC Camp, Nagrota on 16-05-2017 by CD/SDRF Jammu under the guidance of Addl. Director General HG/CD & SDRF J&K and close supervision of Smt.Anita Pawar, Dy.SP Dy. Controller CD Jammu. During the camp about 350 NCC cadets/staff members of different states participated and were briefed about the disaster management techniques during flood rescue, air raid and fire fighting with practical session.

Col. Karam Din, Camp Commandant NCC highly appreciated the role of Civil Defence and requested to conduct such awareness programmes in future also. He advised the cadets to become good human beings to serve the society by joining such organization.

At the end of the programme Smt.Anita Pawar Dy.SP, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu thanked all the NCC cadets and staff members who were present in the programme and requested to join the Civil Defence organization in their native states because Civil Defence is the Defence of the people, by the people and for the people. Besides this awareness camp, Civil Defence Jammu also conducted awareness camp on 09-06-2017 and 31-07-2017 at NCC camp Nagrota.


 

FIRE SAFETY MOCK DRILL EXERCISE ORGANIZED AT NHPC PROJECT ALCHI LEH

Civil Defence and SDRF unit Leh organized fire safety mock drill for the employees of National Hydal Power Corporation Leh in order to sensitise, facilitate and train them in fire-fighting and other rescue procedures during hypersensitive fire incidents. The fire fighting mock drill exercise was conducted on the occasion which was witnessed by staff members of the corporation.


 

ONE DAY CAMP WAS ORGANIZED IN COLLABORATION WITH DEPARTMENT OF DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND METROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT

On 02-05-2017 Civil Defence Srinagar organized one day awareness camp at New Public School Pandatch Srinagar in collaboration with department of Disaster Management and Metrological department. The aim to organize the camp was to apprise / sensitise the participants as how to face the natural disasters and how to respond, avoid panic situations of any disasters. Each participant was taught and briefed about the responsibility of a citizen as a first responder and what precautions should be adhered before taking any response. During the camp Director Metrology Sh. Sonam Lotus delivered lecture on earthquake. Besides Director Disaster management Sh.Aamir Ali, Dy.Chief Warden Srinagar delivered lecture on disaster management and the vulnerability of J&K state to floods / earthquake etc. He stressed upon all the participants to join civil defence organization as volunteers to serve the humanity and advised all the stakeholders / participants to take the advantage of modern technology to face the disasters.

Moreover, one day lecture cum demonstration was organized for 383 NCC cadets of JAKLI Headquarters Rengreth on 02-05-2017. During the camp, participants were briefed about some important preparedness measures of disaster management which includes Disaster Mapping, disaster preparedness plan, land use zoning and preparing community through predictable forecast and warning.


 

SDRF JAMMU PARTICIPATED IN COMBINED MOCK EXERCISE HELD AT TECHNICAL AIR PORT JAMMU

On 08-06-2017, a combined mock exercise was held at Technical Air Port Jammu under the supervision of Divisional Commissioner Jammu in which SDRF 2nd Bn. also participated alongwith other agencies. During the exercise SDRF instructor also briefed the participants about SDRF equipments and its uses during disaster.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE/ SDRF KATHUA ACQUAINTED GOVT. SCHOOL TEACHERS WITH DISASTER MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES

Civil Defence Kathua organised two days awareness cum demonstration camps in various schools of Kathua district i.e. at Govt. Middle School Chack Sheikhan Kathua w.e.f 31-05-2017, Govt. High School Chhan Arrorian Hiranagar w.e.f. 02-06-2017 and Govt. Higher Secondary School Gujroo Billawar w.e.f. 06-06-2017. During these camps, about 100 teachers participated and were acquainted with fire-fighting, first aid, rescue operations and disaster management techniques by the CD/SDRF experts. Moreover, demonstrations on various rescue operations were also conducted on the occasions by the experts.


 

DEPUTY COMMISSIONER JAMMU CHAIRED A CIVIL DEFENCE WARDENS/ VOLUNTEERS MEETING ON SHRI AMAR NATH JI YATRA-2017

On 06-06-2017, a meeting of Civil Defence Wardens / Volunteers was held at Regional Civil Defence Control Centre Jammu under the chairmanship of Sh. Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, IAS Deputy Commissioner-cum-Controller Civil Defence, Jammu in connection with Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra – 2017. In the meeting Dy.Commissioner appreciated the role of Civil Defence Wardens / volunteers who had performed SANJY duties last year. He also briefed the Civil Defence Wardens / Volunteers about the assignments for the forthcoming Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra Duty–2017. He said that the Wardens / Volunteers whose performance will be outstanding during the Yatra period will be honored and urged the Civil Defence volunteers to perform their duties with dedication and be vigilant during yatra period.

At the end of the meeting, Dy.SP Anita Pawar, Dy.SP Dy.Controller Civil Defence, Jammu thanked the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Controller Civil Defence, Jammu and assured that the Civil Defence Wardens / Volunteers will remain vigilant to assist during whole yatra period. On the occasion, Sh.Paramjeet Kumar, Chief warden Civil Defence, Jammu, Sh.Ranjit Singh, Dy.Chief Warden, Smt.Santosh Magotra,Divisional Warden,Sh.Jagdish Kumar, Dy.Divisional Warden and Civil Defence Wardens / Volunteers also attended the meeting.


 

CRPF PERSONNEL ACQUAINTED WITH DISASTER MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES BY SDRF EXPERTS

Three days lecture cum demonstration camp was organized at Zonal training centre Nagrota w.e.f 10-06-2017 in which about 300 CRPF Jawans participated and were acquainted with MFR and CSSR techniques by SDRF experts. Moreover, two days lecture cum demonstration camp was also organised at CRPF Zonal training centre Nagrota Jammu w.e.f. 21-06-2017 to 22-06-2017. During the camp about 250 CRPF jawans participated who were briefed on topic ‘Road Block’ and ‘Cloud Burst’ by SDRF experts.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE AND SDRF UDHAMPUR CONDUCTED MOCK EXERCISE ON RESCUE OPERATIONS

On 24-06-2017, a mock exercise on rescue operation in Road accident was carried out at village omala near Railway road Udhampur by the CD/SDRF teams Udhampur under supervision of Dy.Commissioner Udhampur who was chief guest on the occasion. Besides others Superintendent district Hospital, Tehsildar Udhampur, Dy.SP Hqrs. Dy.Director Fire & Emergency Service, Chief warden, Dy.Chief warden were also present on the occasions. Moreover, on 10-07-2017, a joint mock drill with 08 Rajputanana Rifles and 87 Mount Brigade Garhi was also conducted on ‘Mega Rahat : Disaster Relief’ at Village upper Garnai Udhampur under the command of Lt.Colonel Nitan Khajuria. The camp was organised in order to have good synchronization and co-ordination when facing the calamity like flood or landslide etc. Besides, the army personnel were acquainted with the SDRF’s equipments by the SDRF personnel.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE SAMBA ORGANISED SHRI AMARNATH JI YATRA CAMP AT CHICHI MATA TEMPLE SAMBA

An inaugural function regarding volunteer service to be performed during Shri Amar nath Ji Yatra was inaugurated at Chichi Mata temple samba on 25-06-2017. The function was attended by Dy. Chief Warden, Dy. Divisional Warden, Post Wardens, Dy. Post Wardens including sector Wardens and CD volunteers under the overall command of Chief Warden Samba Sh.Dharamvir Singh. At the outset, Dy. Controller CD Samba Sh.Rajesh Sandal, Dy.SP welcomed the participants and gave details of past achievements of CD unit Samba and the services to be rendered during Sh.Amar Nath Ji Yatra duty 2017. The Divisional Warden Sh.Raj Singh gave detailed deliberation regarding the purpose and utilization of volunteer services to be performed by one and all who were present in this function and other CD wardens and volunteers. He also stated that whole unit of Home Guard /Civil Defence and SDRF are fully prepared to perform their part of services for SANJY 2017 on rotation wise during the yatra.


 

RESCUE OPERATION CONDUCTED AT DENDIPORA KOKERNAG

Civil Defence and SDRF component Anantnag organized search and rescue operation when a passenger vehicle met with an accident and fell down in Nallah Brangi. During this dreadful incident 04 passengers were rescued safely by CD & SDRF team and rest three who died were fished out by the team.

  • CD Doda: Civil Defence Doda conducted awareness camps at Panchayat Halqa Pranoo on 16-05-2017, Panchayat Halqa Budhi on 25-05-2017, Kursari Bhaderwah on 06-06-2017, village Trithloo Gandoh Doda on 18-06-2017, DIET Doda on 11-07-2017. During these camps, a large number of civilians participated and were acquainted with first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation techniques by the CD/SDRF instructors. Besides, 05 days CD training camp was also organised at Govt. Hr.Sec. School Khelani Doda w.e.f. 18-07-2017 to 22-07-2017. During the camp about 70 students/ staff members participated and were imparted basic training of disaster management techniques by CD/SDRF experts. Moreover, CD Doda also conducted joint mock exercise with Army and Civil Administration, on Disaster Management at District Police Line Doda on 30-06-2017.
    CD/SDRF team Doda conducted rescue operation during cloud burst at Thathri Doda on 20-07-2017. During the rescue operation 06 dead bodies were recovered. Besides, SDRF Doda also conducted rescue operation at Pull Doda where one person drowned at Neeru Nallah on 01-04-2017 in which dead body of said boy was recovered by rescue team. Moreover, SDRF rescue team also conducted search and rescue operations at River Chenab on 18-7-2017 and at Gharsoo near Pull Doda on 22-07-2017 but no person was traced.
  • CD Jammu: Civil Defence Jammu organized awareness camps at Jagti Nagrota Jammu on 25-04-2017, KC College of Education Jammu on 06-05-2017 and on 22-05-2017.

    During these awareness camps a large number of students and civilians participated and were briefed about Civil Defence basic trainings e.g. first aid, fire fighting, rescue operation and Disaster management techniques. Besides Civil Defence Jammu also organised First Aid awareness camp at Bahu Fort Jammu on eve of Navratras Festival w.e.f 01-04-2017 to 05-04-2017 in which about 60 Civil Defence Volunteers performed selfless service with local Police to assist the devotees.
  • CD Sunderbani: Civil Defence Sunderbani conducted awareness camps at Panchyat Halqa Patraraa Sunderbani on 24-04-2017, 27-04-2017 and 06-05-2017 and Model academy High School Kalideh Sunderbani on 16-05-2017,Stering Computer Institute Sunderbani on 14-06-2017 and Private Tution center Sunderbani on 27-06-2017, Chani Prat Sunderbani on 19-07-2017 and Govt.Girls High School Siot on 27-07-2017. Moreover, Civil Defence Sunderbani conducted 05 days basic CD training camp at Model Academy High School Kalideh Sunderbani w.e.f 29-05-2017 to 02-06-2017 in which about 50 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts.

    CD Poonch: Civil Defence Poonch conducted awareness camps at Mohalla Purani Poonch on 27-04-2017, Panchayat Halqa Kanuyian Poonch on 29-04-2017, Govt. Middle School Degwar Poonch on 19-05-2017, Govt. Middle School Jhullas Poonch on 23-05-2017, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Lassana on 04-06-2017 and Krishi Vigian Kender Poonch on 27-07-2017.
    During these camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were briefed about fire fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts. Moreover, CD Poonch also conducted five days basic training camp at Govt. Hr.Sec. School Lassana Suranakot Poonch w.e.f. 20-7-2017 to 25-07-2017 in which about 63 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire-fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts.
  • CD Nowshera: Civil Defence Nowshera conducted one day awareness camp at GHS Nonial near Central Gurudwara Nowshera on 17-05-2017 in which about 80 migrant people of Border area participated and were briefed about role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster. Besides, CD Nowshera also organized five days basic training camp at Govt. Girls Higher Sec. School Nowshera w.e.f. 17/07/2017 to 22/07/2017 in which about 50 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire-fighting, rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts. Moreover, on 01/07/2017 Civil Defence Nowshera launched rescue operation in Menavar Tawi near lamberi Dhera Nowshera when a person namely Inderpaul singh s/o Chater Singh R/o Poonch drowned while taking bath. During rescue operation, dead body of the said person was recovered.

    SDRF rescue team Kathua rescued the trapped persons from Ujh river at Chhaby Chack during flash flood
    CD Kathua: Civil Defence Kathua organized one day awareness camps at Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School Hiranagar Kathua on 10-04-2017 and at Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Kathua on 11-05-2017 in which 115 students participated and were briefed about first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts.
    Moreover, CD/SDRF rescue team also conducted rescue operation in Ujh River near village Chhaby Chack (Rajbagh) on 21-06-2017. During the rescue operation, seven local persons were rescued by the team who were trapped during flash flood in said river.
  • CD Udhampur: Civil Defence Udhampur organized three days first aid camp at Devika Mandir Complex on the occasion of Baisakhi Mela Udhampur w.e.f 13-04-2017 to 15-04-2017 to facilitate the large number of devotees. Moreover, Civil Defence Udhampur conducted awareness camps at Govt. Middle School Gullaban Panchari on 17-04-2017, Govt. M.S.Kothi Lairh Panchari on 17-04-2017 and Govt. Middle School Moungri Panchari on 21-04-2017 in which about 570 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the Civil Defence/SDRF instructors. Civil Defence Udhampur conducted three days CD awareness camp at Mongri Shiv Parvati Mela Udhampur w.e.f 14-05-2017 in which about 500 people participated. Besides, SDRF rescue team fished out two dead bodies from river tawi at village Bupp of Chenani while launching a rescue operation.
  • CD Rajouri: Civil Defence Rajouri organized various awareness camps in district Rajouri at Bela Colony Rajouri on 03-04-2017, Panchayat Ghar Palama Rajouri on 28-04-2017, Ward No. 2 Bella Colony Rajouri on 29-04-2017, Dhangri Rajouri on 10-05-2017, Azamatabad Thanamandi on 02-05-2017, Higher Secondary School Rajouri on 24-05-2017, Tata Company Dhaloqra Rajouri on 09-06-2017, Darhal Jhanamarg Rajouri on 27-06-2017, Darhal Chokian on 07-07-2017 and Rajdhani Manjakote on 21-07-2017. During these camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were briefed about the role and importance of Civil Defence and disaster management activities by the Civil Defence and SDRF experts.
    Moreover, Civil Defence Rajouri also organized training camps at SDRF component Rajouri w.e.f. 10-07-2017 to 14-07-2017 and w.e.f. 17-07-2017 to 21-07-2017 in which police personnel were imparted basic training of disaster management techniques by CD/SDRF experts.

    CD Samba: Civil Defence Samba conducted various awareness camps in district Samba i.e at Kandi Village Sandhi, Ghagwal, Samba on 15-04-2017, Village sarain, Nud, Samba on 19-04-2017, Uplex Ltd. Sidco Complex Bari Brahmana Samba on 17-04-2017, K P Hr. sec. School Samba on 26-04-2017, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Samba on 29-04-2017, village Rattanpur Surara Samba on 19-05-2017, village Rakh Kangwala on 12-06-2017, Chichi Mata Temple on 11-07-2017, National High school Sujiwan Samba on 18-07-2017, Parveen Model Hr. Secondary School Supwal Samba on 31-07-2017. During these camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were briefed about the role and importance of Civil Defence and disaster management activities like fire-fighting, first aid, rescue operation by the Civil Defence and SDRF experts. Besides Civil Defence Samba conducted two CD basic training camps at National academy Sujwan Samba w.e.f 12-05-2017 to 17-05-2017, Model Hr. Sec. School Supwal Samba w.e.f 24-05-2017 to 28-05-2017 and Kandi Village Surara Ghagwal w.e.f 14-06-2017 to 18-06-2017. During these camps, about 200 students/civilians participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.

    Moreover, on 24-07-2017 Civil Defence/SDRF rescue team Samba also launched rescue operation in river Basanter near Nanak chack under the supervision of Dy.SP Zahid Saif Wani, where a loaded Tipper bearing No.JK21B-0771 alongwith driver and cleaner was trapped. During rescue operation trapped persons namely Balbinder Singh S/o Preet Singh R/O Pangdour and Arjun Kumar R/o Supwal were rescued safely by the rescue team. Besides, rescue team samba also conducted rescue operation when a loaded Truck Trolley bearing No.Jk214147 rolled down in front of old ARTO office near Petrol Pump Supwal Samba on 18-07-2017.

    CD Ramban: Civil Defence Ramban organsied awareness camps at Govt. High School Kanga Ramban on 10-04-2017, Govt. Middle School Ukhral Ramban on 17-04-2017 and Govt. high School Parnote Ramban in which about 485 students participated and were briefed about first aid and basic skills of Civil Defence/Disaster management by the experts. Besides, on 13-06-2017, SDRF Ramban conducted joint mock exercise (Hafazat-e-Awam) at jaswal Bridge Karol and Kela Morh Seri Ramban alongwith Army, IRP, Local Police, Medical Team.
    Moreover, SDRF Ramban conducted rescue operations at Mehar, Ramban on 21-06-2017, Nachlana Banihal on 16-07-2017, Khooni Nallah Ramban on 22-07-2017 during road accidents.
  • CD Kishtwar: Civil Defence Kishtwar conducted various awareness camps in Kishtwar i.e. at Govt. ITI Kishtwar on 20-04-2017, P.H.Bagna Padyarna Kishtwar on 28-04-2017, at Panchayat Halqa Karool Sarthal on 01-05-2017, Panchayat Halqa Dada Karool Sarthal on 12-05-2017, Panchayat Halqa Trigam Kishtwar on 14-05-2017, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Kishtwar on 15-05-2017, Govt Girls. Hr. Sec. School Kishtwar on 16-05-2017, District Police Line Kishtwar on 30-05-2017, Helipad Ground Kishtwar on 07-06-2017 and Govt. High School Pochal Kishtwar on 17-06-2017. During these camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were briefed about fire fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts. Moreover, SDRF Kishtwar conducted rescue operation at Kuligad near Drabshalla on 22-04-2017 when a vehicle No. JK17-1896 (Wagnor) met with an accident. During rescue operation, two dead bodies were retrieved from the vehicle and two injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar. Besides, SDRF team also conducted rescue operation at Dandhi Morh when a tempo bearin No.JK17-1080 met with an accident and fell into river Chenab. During rescue operation two injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar.
  • CD Reasi: CD Reasi organised awareness camps at Govt. High School Bhaga Kotli Reasi on 17-04-2017, District Police Line Reasi on 15-04-2017, Govt. High School Sujandhar Reasi on 02-05-2017, Panchayat Ghar Kotli Mantroain Bata Dassar Reasi on 02-05-2017, General Zorawar Singh Memorial Govt. Degree College on 03-05-2017, Aghar Jitto Mela on 08-06-2017,Panchayat Ghar Kotli Mantroain Kaura Reasi on 20-06-2017, Panchayat Ghar Anji Kyala on 01/7/2017, Amba Kids School Panthal Katra on 29-07-2017. During these camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were briefed about fire fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts. Moreover, Civil Defence Reasi also organised training camp at District Police Line Reasi w.e.f 15-02-2017 to 22-05-2017. During the camp, about 24 IRP/CRPF personnel participated and were imparted basic training disaster management techniques by the SDRF personnel.
  • CD Srinagar: Civil Defence Srinagar imparted civil defence training to 60 youths at RCDCC Srinagar w.e.f.05-06-2017 to 10-06-2017 / Khanyar Srinagar w.e.f. 16-06-2017 to 21-06-2017. During these training camps trainees were acquainted with the tactics of first aid and fire fighting etc. Besides vulnerability of J&K State to natural disasters of flood/ earth quake , draught / epidemics etc were also highlighted during the lectures by Civil Defence Instructors.
  • CD Anantnag: On the eve of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra a table top exercise of all the stake holders and other related agencies was organized by Amarnath Ji shrine board in collaboration with Civil Defence & SDRF unit Anantnag at Pahalgam on 21-06-2017. During the exercise a thorough discussion and deliberation was made on the Natural disaster phase. It was stressed for adhering SWOT procedure of disaster management which includes Strengths/ weaknesses / opportunities and threats of a disaster. All these perspectives were thoroughly discussed and deliberations were shared with all the participants. Role of SDRF were also highlighted during the table top exercise. Besides roles and responsibilities of each individual, team members , agencies / stakeholders were clearly defined before organizing actual drill. Day after table top exercise two mock drill exercises were also organized at Pahalgam on 22 & 24 June-2017 by Civil Defence unit Anantnag.
  • CD Pulwama: W.e.f 25-05-2017 to 29-05-2017 Civil Defence Pulwama imparted Civil Defence training to 55 youth associated Catholic Social Service society Pulwama. Moreover civil defence Pulwama / Awantipora organized two 05-days civil defence training camps at Himayat Centre Awantipora w.e.f..20-07-2017 to 24-07-2017 and at Govt. High school Reshie Pora Ullar Awantipora. During the training camps about 187 youths were trained in disaster tactics and rescue operations.
    CD Budgam :- During the months of April/ May/ June and July-2017 Civil Defence Budgam organized 14 CD & disaster management awareness camps at Govt. High School Chewdara Beerwah Budgam on 04-04-2017 (170- Participants) / Govt. High school Najan Beerwah Budgam on 18-04-2017 (210- Participants)/ Govt. High school Charmingloo Beerwah on 20-04-2017 (165 -Participants) / Govt. High school Utligam Berrwah on 24-04-2017 (150- participants) / Govt. High School Bunhama on 24-04-2017 (210-participants) /Govt. High school Ichgam Budgam on 13-05-2017 (190-particpants) / Govt. Higher secondary school Ichgam Budgam on 15-05-2017 ( 175-particpants) / Govt. High School Khanpora Budgam on 16-05-2017 (145-particpants) / Govt. Girls high school soibug Budgam on 10-06-2017 (155-Particpants)/ Govt. Boys high school Choon Budgam on 24-06-2017(162)/ Govt. boys higher secondary school Budgam on 30-06-2017 (226-participants) / Govt. high school chadoora Budgam on 04-07-2017 (150-participants)/ Govt. High school Raiyar Khansahib Budgam on 18-07-2017 (170-participants) & at Govt. high school Gojithaji Khansahib Budgam on 25-07-2017 (155-participants) . Besides Civil Defence Budgam organized 04- training camps of five days duration and about 203 students and local youths were imparted civil defence basic training.
  • CD Baramulla: During the months of April, May, June and July-2017 Civil Defence Baramulla organizes 03 CD & disaster management awareness camps at Becon House Modern Secondary school Ushkara Baramulla on 29-04-2017 (70- Participants) / Police training school Sheeri Baramulla on 20-05-2017 (350- Participants)/ Govt. Higher secondary school Aithoora Kreeri Baramulla on 31-07-2017 (45-Participants). Moreover 03- training camps of five days duration were also conducted and about 200 students and local youths were imparted Civil Defence basic training. Besides 04 rescue operations and 01 mock drill exercise was also conducted by CD Baramulla.
  • CD Kupwara : Civil Defence Kupwara organizes 05- awareness camps at various places of district Kupwara viz DPL Kupwara /Chogul Kupwara / Cheki Hatmullah & Mirwayan Kupwara in which about 360 students and staff members participated.
  • CD Kargil : Civil Defence Kargil organizes 10- awareness camps at various places of district Kargil viz Kharboo on 04-04-2017 / Khabadi Kala Kargil on 08 & 09-04-2017 / Police Public school Kargil on 15-04-2017/ High school Bhibat Drass on 17-04-2017/ Higher secondary school Drass on 18-04-2017/ / PS Drass on 19-04-2017/ High school Thasgam Drass / Baroo Kargil on 22-04-2017 / High school Kharboo on 04-05-2017/ Police Public school Kargil on 17-05-2017.
  • CD Leh: Civil Defence Leh organized two awareness camps at various places of district Leh and also conducted one rescue operation at Forest Garden Choglamsar on 14-05-2017.
