ACHIEVEMENTS OF HOMEGUARDS/CIVIL DEFENCE & SDRF J&K
(JANUARY 2016 TO NOVEMBER 2016)

ENGAGEMENT & TRAININGS/DUTIES OF HOMEGUARD VOLUNTEERS

During the period, 124 Homeguard volunteers were engaged/re-engaged in J&K Homeguard organisation and 496 Homeguards volunteers underwent Basic, Advanced, Refresher and capsule Training Courses at Central Training Institute of Homeguards/Civil Defence at Jammu and Kashmir besides 561 Homeguard Volunteers were imparted Disaster Management training at various District level. Moreover, 237 Homeguard volunteers were deployed on Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2016 at important places i.e. Baltal, Pahalgam, Sheshnag, Railpathri, Sangam, Nunwan, Chandanwari, Pissutop, Panjtarni, Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Chichi Mata, Batote alongwith SDRF personnel & Civil Defence volunteers on rotational basis and about 97 VHGs performed Hajj Duty in Kashmir. Besides VHGs deployed at different stations to assist the District Administration in order to maintain Law & Order duty, Traffic Regularization duty, shifting & lifting of injured persons from border area to safer places whenever shelling by Pakistan on the border, Road rescue accidents in evacuating/shifting injured persons to hospital.


ENROLLMENT /AWARENESS CAMPS/DEMONSTRATIONS / RESCUE OPERATIONS OF CIVIL DEFENCE J&K

Civil Defence J&K enrolled about 8438 Civil Defence volunteers in various CD towns of J&K during the year-2016. Civil Defence J&K organised about 379 awareness camps in various CD towns of the state in which a large number of civilian population were acquainted with the aims, objectives and importance of Civil Defence during disaster. Civil Defence J&K conducted 149 CD Demonstrations/ Mock exercises in various CD towns in which live demonstrations on Fire-Fighting, First aid, Rescue operations from high buildings were exhibited. Besides about 126 Rescue operations were also conducted during landslide, floods, road accidents etc. by CD rescue teams alongwith SDRF in various CD Towns of the State.


CIVIL DEFENCE/DISASTER MANAGMENT TRAININGS

During the period, 137 training camps were organised in various CD towns of J&K in which about 8438 CD volunteers were trained in various Disaster Management techniques during disaster like Earthquake, Fire-fighting, Flood, First aid, shifting of casualty, Rescue operations from high buildings with the help of ropes and ladders etc.

CIVIL DEFENCE ANANTNAG ORGANISED AWARENESS CAMP ON “ROLE OF CIVIL DEFENCE IN DISASTER MITIGATION”

On 20-02-2016, Civil Defence Anantnag organized one day awareness camp at CDCR Anantnag under the theme “Role of Civil Defence in Disaster Mitigation” in which a large number of students from various paramedical institutes / collages and schools participated. The programme was inaugurated by Dy. Commissioner Anantnag Mr. Muneer-ul- Islam who delivered lecture on Role of civil defence and its importance, besides he urged all the participants to come forward to join civil defence organization as volunteers and advised them if anyone wants to do the best social service there is the only alternative is to join Civil Defence. It is the only Civil Defence organization under the banner of which you will get respect and satisfaction to serve the humanity and nation. During the programme the famous personality of Kashmir known as weather man Mr. Sonam Lotus also delivered lecture on “How Earthquake happens and explained how humans disturbs the nature and what will be the consequences. Besides the above senior officers Professor Dr. GM. Dar, Faculty Heal Disaster Management Govt. Institute of Management and Public Administration also delivered lecture on Disaster Management.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE JAMMU ACQUAINTED STUDENTS OF GGM SCIENCE COLLEGE WITH DISASTER MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES

To train the students and staff members in dealing with emergency situations like disasters and assisting victims, a five days basic Civil Defence Training camp was organized by Civil Defenc, Jammu at Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu w.e.f. 02-03-2016 to 08-03-2016. During the camp, a large number of students participated and imparted Civil Defence and disaster management techniques by the SDRF experts. The camp was organized under the guidance of Sh.L.Mohanty, IPS Addl. Director General of HG / Civil Defence & SDRF, J&K and close supervision of Smt.Tajinder Kour, KPS, the then Dy. Controller Civil Defence, Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Dy.Controller highlighted the role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster. Sh. AjitAngral, Principal Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College highly appreciated the role of Civil Defence and requested for imparting such training programmes in future also. The main aim of the training programme was to facilitate the students / teaching staff members with regard to preventive measures during disaster like Earth Quake, Fire- Fighting, First Aid & Floods. During the camp, Sh. Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden Civil Defence, Jammu, Smt. Santosh Magotra, Divisional Warden, Div. No.4,Sh. R.Vijay Magotra, Dy. Divisional Warden, Thakur Ranjit Singh, Post Warden were also present.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED INTER COLLEGE SYMPOSIUM AT SHIVALIK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION UDHAMPUR

On 26-03-2016, Civil Defence Udhampur organized inter college Symposium on disaster management at Shivalik college of Education Udhampur. On the occasion a large number of students participated from various schools and delivered their lectures on Disaster Management. Miss. Preeti Sharma of Govt. PG College Udhampur secured first position and Miss. Bhabna Rani of Bhartiya B.Ed college Udhampur security 2nd position while Miss Mirnal Charak of Kalra B.Ed. College Udhampur secured third position. The students were awarded suitably with mementoes to boost their morale.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED DEBATE COMPETITION ON DRUG DE-ADDICTION AT BHARGVA PUBLIC SCHOOL SAMBA

Civil Defence Samba organized drug de-addiction campaign and debate competition at Bhargva Public School Samba on 28-03-2016. On the occasion a large number of students participated and reflected their views on the topic Drug de-addiction. After conclusion trophies were distributed to the first five students to boost their morale. Dy.Controller CD Samba also briefed the students on the occasion while Sh.Vivek Arora, Principal of the school appreciated the Civil Defence organsation for conducting such type of programmes. Moreover, CD Samba also organized such drug de-addiction campaign at Mansar Samba on 24-03-2016 in which lectures were delivered by doctors from health departments.


 

SDRF PERSONNEL AND HOMEGUARDS/ CIVIL DEFENCE VOLUNTEERS DEPLOYED FOR SHRI AMARNATH JI YATRA DUTY-2016 AT JAMMU AND SRINAGAR

A large number of HG/CD volunteers and SDRF personnel alongwith GOs/NGOs have been deployed for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Duty at various important places in Kashmir i.e Nunwan, Chandanwari Sheshnag, MG Top, Poshpatri, Panjtarni, Baltal, Brarimarg, Sangam & Holy Cave and at Jammu Province i.e. Lakhanpur, Kalibari, Chann Arorian, Chichi Mata, Base camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, Udhampur and Ramban. Sh.Amarnath Ji Yatra commenced from 02-07-2016 and concluded on 18-08-2016. All the SDRF teams who have undergone specialised Courses in Disaster Management have been deployed with well equipped rescue equipments and tents, First Aid Boxes with first aid material, sleeping bags, oxygen cylinders, shovels, pick axes, ropes, blankets etc. to tackle any eventuality. Moreover, SDRF rescue vehicles and ambulances have also been deployed round the clock at base camps Baltal, Phalgam and Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. Sh.S.Gopal Reddy, IPS Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K also visited various SDRF camps and reviewed the arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra at Srinagar.

The SDRF MRTs provided oxygen and first aid to a large number of yatries. Besides, they assisted thousand of yatries especially sick and old aged to negotiate the difficult tracks of the route.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE/ HOMEGUARD & SDRF PERSONNEL CONDUCTED RESCUE OPERATIONS AT SAMBA

Civil Defence and SDRF team Samba conducted seventeen rescue operations. During these rescue operations about 15 injured persons were rescued and shifted to district hospital for further treatment while 04 dead bodies were fished out and handed over to district Police. Moreover, on 25-07-2016 HG/CD & SDRF team also launched rescue operation at Basanter Nalla where a person was trapped in flash flood. During rescue operation the trapped person namely Ram Niwas age 30years R/o Utter Pardesh was saved safely by the team under the supervision of Dy.Controller Civil Defence Samba.


 

SDRF PERSONNEL CONDUCTED RESCUE OPERATIONS AT JAMMU

State Disaster Response Force team conducted various rescue operations. During these rescue operations about 04 dead bodies were fished out by the SDRF personnel and handed over the district Police. Besides, on 11-05-2016 to 12-05-2016, a rescue operation was carried out by SDRF personnel at canal Barnai Jammu where a car alongwith four family members had slipped off the road and fell down into the canal. The rescue team managed to pull out all the passengers to safely.

Moreover, on 26/5/2016 SDRF team was also deputed to the jungles of Nandini along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in a reported case of jungle fire. Alongwith major partners Fire and Emergency Department the fire was doused off without any loss of life and property. Further on 09-8-2016, one person rescued by SDRF team who was trapped during flood at Sidhra


 

SDRF AND CIVIL DEFENCE FISHED OUT DEAD BODIES DURING VARIOUS RESCUE OPERATIONS CONDUCTED AT KATHUA

On 24-05-2016, after receiving information that one person drowned in canal Ravi near Lakhanpur, SDRF and Civil Defence teams reached on spot and launched rescue operation. During rescue operation, dead body of a person namely Gh.Rasool Bhat age 25 years S/O Sh.Ali Mohd Bhat R/O Baramulla was recovered by the team and handed over to District Police. Further, on 11-06-2016 and 01-07-2016, SDRF/CD team Kathua also fished out dead bodies neamely Tarun Sharma age 18 years S/O Sh.Vijay Sharma R/O ward No.1 Kathua and Ashok Moria S/O Ram Moria R/O Uttar Pardesh respectively who was drowned in canal Ravi near village Kharota and near Shiv Mandhir Magar Khad Kathua during flash flood.

Besides, On 05-07-2016, after receiving information that one person had drowned in canal Ravi near Railway Station Govindsar Kathua, SDRF and Civil Defence teams reached on spot and launched rescue operation. During rescue operation, dead body of a person namely Harkesh Parsad age 23years S/O Kishori Parsad R/o Bihar was fished out by the team and handed over to District Police.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE SRINAGAR ORGANIZED BLOOD DONATION CAMP

On 26-04-2016 Civil Defence Srinagar organized one day blood donation camp at Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar in collaboration with the LD Hospital administration. During the camps local civil defence volunteers of Srinagar districts donated about 100 points of blood.

Moreover, CD awareness camp was also organized at Parraypora Bhagat Srinagar on 19-04-2016 by Civil Defence Srinagar under the supervision of Dy. Controller Civil Defence Srinagar. About 500 local youth and senior citizens participated in the camp and were acquainted about the role of civil defence during disasters etc.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE ANANTNAG CONDUCTED AWARENESS CUM DEMONSTRATION CAMPS

Civil Defence Anantnag organized awareness camps in district Anantnag at various places like Ashajipora, Verinag, DIET Anantnag & at Seer Hamdan Anantnag. During these camps, participants were briefed about the Do’s and Don’ts of emergencies while fire fighting mock drills were also conducted by the instructors of SDRF component Anantnag.

Civil Defence Anantnag also conducted search and rescue operation at Sangam in which one drowned person was fished out from river Jehlum.

Besides on the occasion of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 03-days table talk exercise of all stake holders were organized by shrine board in collaboration with civil defence and SDRF in which about 300 employees of various departments participated.

CD SRINAGAR : Civil Defence Srinagar organized one day medical camps in collaboration with Red Cross society Kashmir on 30-06-2016 at Exchange road Srinagar in which about 300 ailing persons from the various locations of district Srinagar were treated and free prescribed medicines were distributed amount the participants.
During the month of June-2016 Civil Defence Srinagar deputed about 70 CD wardens/ volunteers for assistance of Yatrees from at the location of TRC/ Nishat/ Habak Crossing/ Nagbal Ganderbal and Manigam. These volunteers assisted the yatrees and maint ained the traffic for easement the yatries.

CD KARGIL: Civil Defence Kargil conducted six rescue operations at villages of Gramthang, Handarman, Baroo Sherbagh, Baroo, Chicktan, Jusgund Drass, Drass Hundarman & Kharboo and the victims were rescued from the accidental sites by the CD/SDRF personnel.
Moreover, a Fire Fighting Mock Drill Exercise was also conducted at Indian oil depot Kargil in which about 50 employees of depot participated and were made acquainted about fire fighting techniques by the CD/SDRF personnel.

CIVIL DEFENCE LEH ORGANISED AWARENESS CAMPS IN DISTRICT LEH

Civil Defence Leh organized awareness camps in Leh at various places like at Lamdon Model Secondary school, DPL Leh, Lingshed Area Education Development Hostel Leh. During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were acquainted with the role of civil defence and Disaster Management techniques by the SDRF/CD instructors. Participants were also motivated to join civil defence as volunteer to serve the society and nation.
During the month of July -2016 Civil Defence Leh also organized three CD awareness camps at JNV School Leh, Girls Hostel JNV Leh and Boys Hostel Sr. Secondary school Lamdan Leh in which about 300 students participated and were acquainted with the skills Civil Defence trainings like fire fighting first aid and rescue operations by the CD/SDRF personnel.

CIVIL DEFENCE BARAMULLA: Civil Defence Baramulla organized 02 CD awareness camps at Law Collage Sopore and Govt. Degree collage Baramulla in which about 300 students of these two institutes participated. During these camps the role of civil defence during emergencies were highlighted.

CIVIL DEFENCE URI organized awareness cum mock drill exercise at NHPC Power Project Uri. During the camps the employees of the NHPC were made aware about the DO’s and Don’ts to be assumed during earthquake , fire and Flood.

CD BUDGAM: - Civil Defence Budgam organized five days Civil Defence camp at Govt. High school Peth Kanihama Budgam w.e.f. 09-05-2016 to 14-05-2016 in which about 20 local youths participated and were enrolled as Civil Defence volunteers. Moreover, Civil Defence Budgam also conducted awareness camp at Paller Budgam (225 participants) / Bemina Budgam (165 participants)/ Narkara Budgam (350 Participants) & Ichgam Budgam (160- Participants).


 

ACTIVITIES IN BRIEF :

  • UDHAMPUR: CD Udhampur conducted awareness camps at Ward No. 11 Shiv Nagar Udhampur on 17-08-2016, Sankri Mela Panchari Udhampur on 30-08-2016 to 01-09-2016, Bharitya Vidya Mandir High School Udhampur on 23-11-2016 and at Gujjar Bhakerwal Hostel Jekhani Udhampur on 24-11-2016.

    During the camps, a large number of Students/civilians participated and were briefed about first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.     Besides, CD Udhampur organized 15 days CD/Disaster Management refresher course for Volunteer Homeguards at CD office complex Udhampur w.e.f 27-08-2016 to 10-09-2016 and at CD office complex w.e.f 27-09-2016 to 13-10-2016 in which VHGs participated and were imparted training in Disaster management by the SDRF instructors.
  • CD SUNDERBANI: Civil Defence Sunderbani organized nine CD awareness camps in the town Sunderbani at various places i.e. at Govt. High School Tanda Kangri Sunderbani on 01-08-2016, Panchyat Halqa Bakhar Sunderbani on 22-08-2016, National institute of computer Sunderbani on 12-09-2016, village rewarian da talla, Sunderbani on 19-09-2016, CDPO office Sunderbani on 21-09-2016, CD awareness camps at Govt. Higher Sec. School Sunderbani on 01-10-2016, Govt. High School Kali Deh on 07-10-2016, Govt. Girls High School Siot Sunderbani on 18-11-25016 and at Govt. High School Peli Sunderbani on 30-11-2016. During these awareness camps a large number of students and civilians participated and were briefed about Civil Defence basic trainings e.g. first aid, fire fighting & rescue operation and Disaster management activities by the CD/SDRF instructors.
    Moreover, CD Sunderbani also organised 05 days CD basic training camp at Govt. Girls High School Siot, Sunderbani w.e.f 22-11-2016 to 26-11-2016. During the camp, about 50 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • POONCH: Civil Defence Poonch organized five CD awareness camps in district Poonch at Govt. High School Bandi Chechian Poonch on 24-08-2016, Govt. Higher Sec. School Bhata Dhurian Mendhar on 09-09-2016, Panchyat Halqa Surankote on 26-10-2016, CD HQ Poonch on 12-11-2016 and Govt. Higher Sec. School Gursai Mouri Mendhar Poonch on 19-11-2016. During the camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were briefed about first aid, fire fighting and rescue operations by the CD/SDRF instructors. Moreover, CD Poonch conducted rescue operation during flood at Kalai Chandak Bridge Poonch in which 05 male, 03 female and 03 children were rescued.

    CD NOWSHERA: CD Nowshera conducted one day CD awareness camp at Govt. Middle School Kampla Nowshera on 29-08-2016, Lohakatha Nowshera on 21-09-2016 and at Govt.Middle School Debtta Nowshera on 30-11-2016 in which a large number of students and civilians participated and were briefed about first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.
    Besides Civil Defence Volunteers and Wardens of CD Nowshera town also performed duty at different border migrant camps and assisted the administration in shifting of border people to safe places during the recent border tension.
  • CD AKHNOOR: Civil Defence Akhnoor conducted 13 CD awareness camp at Ward No. 9 on 10-8-2016, Diskal Akhnoor on 16-08-2016, Ward No. 7 Akhnoor on 21-08-2016 and Jourian Akhnoor on 22-08-2016, Devipur Akhnoor on 03-09-2016, ward No. 6 Akhnoor on 10-09-2016, ward No. 1 on 17-09-2016, ward No. 5 on 24-09-2016 and Ward No. 3 Akhnoor on 29-09-2016, Industrial Area Ward No. 12 on 03-10-2016, Ward No. 2 Akhnoor on 13-10-2016, Manda Akhnoor on 20-10-2016 and Sungal Akhnoor on 27-10-2016. During the camps, a large number of students and civil people participated and were briefed about first aid, fire fighting and rescue by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • DODA: Civil Defence Doda conducted CD awareness camps at Mohalla Nagri Doda on 10-08-2016, Village Blassu Doda on 25-08-2016, Mohalla Parmaz Doda on 26-08-2016, Pull Doda on 30-08-2016, Hanga Bhaderwah on 09-09-2016, Mohalla Tondwah Doda on 19-09-2016, Arnora Doda on 20-09-2016 and Govt. ITI Bhaderwah on 26-09-2016, village Massri Doda on 09-10-2016, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Khellani Doda on 15-10-2016, village Babhoor Doda on 23-10-2016 and village Shaie Doda on 31-10-2016, Panchayat Gandoh Doda on 04-11-2016 and Panaja Bhaderwah on 13-11-2016. During the camps, a large number of students and civil people participated and were briefed about first aid, fire fighting and rescue by the CD/SDRF instructors.
    Moreover, CD Doda organized 05 days CD basic training camp at Govt. ITI Bhaderwah w.e.f. 26-09-2016 to 30-09-2016, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Ghat Doda w.e.f 13-10-2016 to 18-10-2016, Jagrote, Pranoo Doda w.e.f. 19-11-2016 to 24-11-2016 and at IRP 6th Bn. HQ Doad w.e.f. 28-11-2016 to 02-12-2016. During these camps about 240 students/ civilians/ Police personnel participated and were imparted basic disaster management training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • JAMMU: Civil Defence Jammu conducted various CD awareness camps at Luthra Hr. Secondary School Talab Tillo Jammu on 06-08-2016, Ved Mandir Amphalla Jammu.

Secondary School Pargwal on 27-09-2016, Govt. Degree College R.S. Pura on 07-10-201, NCC camp Nagrota on 25-10-2016, Soil Conservation Forest Deptt.R.S.Pura on 04-11-2016 and Activities Hr.Sec. School Janipur Jammu on 28-11-2016. During the camps, a large number of students/ civil people/NCC cadets participated and were briefed about first aid, fire fighting and rescue by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • KATHUA: Civil Defence Kathua organized 05 days CD basic training camp at CD conference Hall Kathua w.e.f 17-10-2016 to 21-10-2016 and at Govt. High School Sherpur Hiranagar w.e.f. 15-11-2016 to 19-11-2016 in which about 100 Teachers/CD Volunteers participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by CD/SDRF Instructors. Besides Civil Defence Kathua also conducted two CD awareness camps at Govt. High School Khokyal Kathua on 08-09-2016 and Govt. Hr. Secondary School Koota Hirangar on 23-09-2016. During the camp, a large number of students participated and were briefed about Civil Defence activities and role of Civil Defence during disaster. Moreover, on 01-10-2016, a CD meeting chaired by Comdt. General HG/CD & SDRF J&K in view of prevailing situation of border villages of Kathua District, in which Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu, prominent citizens, chief wardens and other CD Wardens / Volunteers participated.
    On 06-08-2016, Civil Defence Kathua launched rescue operations at Peeni Nalha Billawar and rescued two people who were washed away in flash flood besides CD Kathua also fished out three dead bodies during different rescue operations conducted by SDRF/CD rescue team Kathua.

    SAMBA: Civil Defence Samba organized three CD awareness camps at village Balori Samba on 07-10-2016, village Mawa Samba on 14-10-2016 and village Pangdour Samba on 17-10-2016 in which 172 local peoples participated and were made aware about role and importance of Civil Defence in society. Besides, Civil Defence Samba also conducted 05 days CD basic training camp at New Jagat Jyoti High School Sangwal Vijaypur Samba w.e.f 24-10-2016 to 28-10-2016 in which 65 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • KISHTWAR: Civil Defence Kishtwar conducted CD awareness camps at P.H.Drabhshalla on 30-9-2016, Panchyat halqa Pocchal on 07-10-2016, Panchyat Halqa Karool on 18-10-2016, Sheedhi Chowk Kishtwar on 19-10-2016 and Sheedhi Chowk Kishtwar on 28-10-2016 in which a large number of civilians participated and were made aware about importance of Civil Defence and disaster management.

    RAJOURI: Civil Defence Rajouri conducted 05 days basic training camps at Govt. High School Rajouri w.e.f 02-08-2016 to 06-08-2016, CD office Rajouri w.e.f 08-08-2016 to 12-08-2016, CD complex Rajouri w.e.f 03-10-2016 to 07-10-2016 and at CD complex Rajouri w.e.f. 15-11-2016 to 19-11-2016. During these camps about 100 students/civilians/police personnel were imparted basic disaster management training in fire-fighting, first-aid and rescue operation by the SDRF/CD instructors.
    Civil Defence Rajouri also conducted Anti-drug rally at Darhall Rajouri on 05-09-2016 to aware the local people about ill effects of drugs in which approx 400 civilians participated and SSP Rajouri was also present on the occasion.
    Civil Defence Rajouri organized CD awareness camps at Simbly Darhal on 17-09-2016, Darhal Thang on 27-09-2016, Gubban Budhal on 30-09-2016, Panchayat Bari Darhal on 24-10-2016, Panchayat Halqa Smote Deven Budhal on 27-10-2016, Chankia Daral on 26-11-2016 and at Rajdhani Baughlia Thanamandi on 29-11-2016. During these awareness camps a large number of people participated and were briefed about Civil Defence basic trainings e.g. first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation and Disaster management activities by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • REASI: Civil Defence Reasi conducted one day CD awareness camp at Govt. Middle School Bladda on 03-9-2016, Govt. Middle School Jeeri on 21-09-2016, Govt. Middle School Karua Katra on 29-9-2016, Panchyat Ghar Talwara Reasi on 08-10-2016, Grana Morh on 14-11-2016, Govt. High School Bhaga on 26-11-2016 and DIET on 20-11-2016 in which a large number of students/ civilians/teachers participated and were made aware about importance of Civil Defence and disaster management skills by the CD/SDRF instructors.
    Civil Defence Kargil organized one day Civil Defence awareness camps in villages of Kharboo / Thasgam Drass and at Choskore in which about 520 villagers’ participated besides mock drills were conducted at the venue’s
    Civil Defence Budgam organized two CD awareness camps at tuition academy Sonpah Beerwah on 20-09-2016 and on 28-09-2016.

    SDRF personnel conducted a rescue operation at Seri Ramban during a road accident on 26-11-2016
    RAMBAN: Civil Defence Ramban conducted two Civil Defence camps at Govt. Middle School Dharmound, on 09-10-2016 and Govt. Middle School Verenthal Banihal on 18-10-2016 in which 135 students participated and imparted training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD instructors. Moreover, Civil Defence Ramban conducted. mock exercise on 21-10-2016 at kowbag Ramban on water rescue, NHW accidents and landslides by the SDRF personnel.
  • CD Baramulla organized two CD training camp of five days duration at Kendra Vidyalaya w.e.f. 26-09-2016 to 30-09-2016 & St.Joseph’s School Baramulla w.e.f. 22-1-2016 to 26-10-2016 in which 116 students participated, Divisional Warden Dr. Inderpaul Singh Bali explained the role of civil defence and some of the basic life support tactics were explained to the participants. On the culmination of the training camp a mock drill exercise was conducted by the SDRF team.
  • Civil Defence Kargil Civil Defence Kargil organized two rescue operations at Lal Chowk Kargil abdf at village Kramba Fokar on 16-08-2016 and on 31-08-2016.
  • CD Srinagar established first aid camp at Alamgari Bazar Srinagar on the eve of religious processions of Shia Community w.e.f. 11-10-2016 to 12-10-2016. Devotees were assisted and first aid was served to the devotees as well.
  • CD Anantnag : On 22-11-2016 Civil Defence Anantnag organised One Day Mock Exercise on Disaster Management at District Police Lines Anantnag where Deputy Commissioner Anantnag cum Controller Civil Defence Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah ,IAS was chief guest, besides the exercise was attended by SSP Anantnag Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan, KPS, Shri Muzaffar Hussain Dy.SP DAR Anantnag, Shri Riyaz Ahmad Shah, Dy.SP Dy.Controller CD Anantnag,Shri Tasaduq Rashid Chief Warden Ang, Shri Bashir Ahmad Khan Dy. Div.Wardens Mattan,and a number of CD Wardens/Volunteer,s Home Guard Vol's and senior citizens

    The Mock Exercise was held at the behest of SDRF and Civil Defence, on the occasion the DC Anantnag said that the purpose of this Mock Exercise is to ensure preparedness and preventive measures before the onset of any Disaster whether natural or man-made as the District is prone to certain vulnerabilities like Floods, Earth quake, Heavy Snowfall, Hailstorms and Avalanches besides, the district falls in Seismic Zone-V which is most vulnerabilities zone. The chief guest impressed upon the recalibration of efforts and paraphernalia so that in case of exigency, the human losses is reduced. The chief guest impressed upon to conduct Civil Defence training to Citizens of far flung areas of the district so that in any emergency they can act as first responder besides assured Civil Defence and SDRF Anantnag for any assistance from District Administration , SSP Anantnag in his speech assured Civil Defence and SDRF Anantnag for full co-operation in conducting DM training's & has highlighted the role of SDRF during emergency Dy.Controller CD Anantnag welcomed the guests/participants while as Chief Warden give vote of thanks.
  • Civil Defence Kulgam organised two Mock Exercises on Disaster Management at District Police Lines Kulgam on 21 & 22 November 2016 where Deputy Commissioner Kulgam cum Controller Civil Defence Sh. Showkat Aijaz- KAS was chief guest. The event was witnessed by all civil and police officers of the district and on the said occasion SSP Kulgam Sh. Shridhar Patik –IPS highlighted the role of civil defence and SDRF and ensured all the SDRF and CD staff for full cooperation in future to organize such event in far flung and vulnerable areas of the district.
